The University of Melbourne Overseas Internship Grants, provided by the Victorian Government through the Study Melbourne International Education Resilience Fund, are available to students undertaking an internship in their country of citizenship as part of an existing University work-integrated learning program. Students who hold citizenship in China, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam are eligible to apply provided they are enrolled with a participating faculty.

Eligibility & selection criteria
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- –be enrolled at the University of Melbourne in either an undergraduate degree or a graduate coursework degree with a participating faculty (i.e. Arts, Science, Architecture, Building & Planning, or Engineering and IT)
–be a citizen of China, India, Malaysia, Singapore or Vietnam
–be enrolled in a work integrated learning subject as part of your degree in Winter 2022, Semester 2, 2022, Summer 2023 or Semester 1 2023 and undertaking the internship in your country of citizenship (you must upload a faculty approval letter or email as part of your grant application)
–Internships must commence prior to June 2023 to be eligible for grant funding
–have not received a previous Melbourne Overseas Internship Grant
Selection criteria
Grants will be awarded in the order applications are received.
Conditions
–You must receive faculty permission and enrol in the internship subject for which you were offered the award.
–If your internship is postponed or cancelled by any party, after you have received the award payment, you must contact Stop 1 immediately. You may be required to return the payment.
–You must provide a Scholarship report, when requested, and give permission for the University to share the report, your name and course details to the donor of your award.
–You agree to participate in any ambassadorship activities as requested by the University of Melbourne.
Application process
Global student travel may be limited due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
Grant payments may be held until travel restrictions permit travel to the nominated destination country.

You can submit a grant application as soon as you have received approval from your faculty for your proposed internship. For any questions related to eligibility for an internship subject, please refer to the handbook entry for the subject and contact your faculty for more information.
Only complete applications will be considered.
This funding is separate from University of Melbourne Mobility Awards or other faculty specific funding.
When will I know the outcome?
Grants are awarded on a rolling basis. Payment will be made after you have received approval from the University of Melbourne for credit for the program and you are enrolled in University of Melbourne subject(s) for which the Scholarship was awarded.
