About the AWS Scholarship Program on AI & ML

This scholarship program is designed for students over the age of 16 who are interested in pursuing a career in artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML).

The Amazon Web Services Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Scholarship program aims to educate underrepresented and underserved students about the fundamentals of machine learning in preparation for a career in one of today’s most exciting and fastest-growing fields.

What is the goal of this AWS Scholarship program?

AWS, in collaboration with Udacity, is offering scholarships to underserved and underrepresented students in high schools and institutions of higher education around the globe. The program aims to build a more diverse future tech workforce by removing financial barriers to top-notch digital skills training and offering mentorship and support to qualifying learners. Recipients will enroll in Udacity’s AI Programming with Python Nanodegree program, build a portfolio of real-world projects, and get on the right track to a lucrative career in AI & ML.

How will this program be of benefit to me?

In order to put your new skills to use right away, you will be working on real-world projects with the most up-to-date content co-created with leading industry professionals. You will have access to a supportive online community throughout your journey, where you will not only gain support from fellow students and AWS mentors but also establish a solid industry network. In addition, this program’s students have access to additional monthly virtual events as well as monthly “Ask Me Anything” seminars with prominent industry professionals.

How does it work and how do I get started?

1. Enroll in AWS DeepRacer Student
Opt into the AI & ML Scholarship to begin the application prerequisites. Students can access 20 hours of AWS AI & ML content at launch, receive 10 hours of model training, and get 5 GB of storage per month to participate in the AWS DeepRacer Student League.

2. Scholarship recipients announced
Scholarships for the four-month AI Programming with Python Nanodegree program will be awarded to 2,000 students. Attend virtual mentoring events with industry pros. Plus, learn foundational skills in a collaborative virtual environment with mentorship from Udacity and Amazon advisors.

3. Additional Nanodegree program
All graduates will be invited to take an assessment. The 500 students with the highest scores on the assessment will earn a second Udacity Nanodegree program scholarship to help further prepare them for a career in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
