Research Position Summary:
The Mobility Observatory and Data Analytics Lab in the Geography & Geoinformation Science Department at George Mason University is looking to fill two doctoral research assistantship positions starting in Fall 2023. They are seeking candidates with strong foundations in transportation geography analysis and research interests and experience with mobility, accessibility, spatial interaction, transportation infrastructure, and the influences of emerging technologies (e.g., electric vehicles, urban air mobility, autonomous vehicles) on urban design and travel behavior. Outstanding candidates will demonstrate skills in network analysis, GIS-T, demand and allocation algorithms, economic modeling, or policy analysis.

Qualification and Experience:
- Applicants should hold a Master’s in Geography, Urban and Regional Planning, Engineering, Computer Science, or other related fields.
- A strong background in statistical analysis, econometrics modeling, and mathematical programming is recommended, along with technical writing and communication skills.
- Candidates should have strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and a desire to work collaboratively in vibrant work culture environment.
